Palincăria Transilvania wins silver and bronze at the 2023 London Spirits Competition.

Romanian producer Palincăria Transilvania won two medals, one silver and one bronze, at the sixth edition of the London Spirits Competition in England. The spirits were assessed for quality, value and packaging.

The distillery from Râșnov entered three fruit spirits. Quince pălincă won silver and sour cherry pălincă won bronze. The third entry came close to the score needed for a bronze medal.

The competition attracts producers from around the world and aims to recognise and promote quality spirits.

Palincăria Transilvania was the only distillery from Romania to receive awards at that year’s edition.

“The opportunity to compete with thousands of excellent spirits from around the world, together with the strict criteria for quality, value and packaging, makes a London Spirits Competition award especially valuable. We are proud to have won two medals. They recognise the quality of the awarded products and our distillation methods,” said partners Virgil Asan-Mic and Grigoraș Guiman.

The two medals continue a series of awards for the distillery at competitions in Romania and abroad, including champion titles.

At the time, the distillery’s range included spirits made from 15 kinds of fruit, including plums, sour cherries, black chokeberries, strawberries, apricots, black cherries and peaches, as well as Romanian wine brandy (vinars).
